  • 29th Mar 9pm: The ship is finally free and moving to its transit route.
  • 29th Mar 1pm: The stern of a huge container ship that has been wedged across the Suez Canal for almost a week has been freed from the shoreline. Course correction by almost 80%.
  • 29th Mar 5am: The ship was successfully re-floated at 4.30 a.m. local time on March 29.
  • 28th Mar 9pm: Egypt's president has ordered preparations be made to unload the cargo of the ship stuck in the Suez Canal if refloating it fails

  • 27th Mar: More than 300 ships are stuck on either side of the blockage. Some vessels have had to reroute around Africa. On Saturday about 20,000 tonnes of sand was dredged, and 14 tugboats pulled and pushed the Ever Given in order to try to dislodge it.
  • 27th Mar:The Ever Given has been wedged in the canal - one of the world's busiest trade routes - since Tuesday.
